Overview

In addition to LANCAT, the Church registers and related resources and Police Records searches there are three additional search tools that you can access:

  • A2A - The A2A database contains catalogues describing archives held throughout England and dating from the 900s to the present day.
  • NRA - The NRA contains information on the nature and location of manuscripts and historical records that relate to British history.
  • Map - These online versions of Old Maps of Lancashire were produced by The Environment Directorate's Archaeology Service . Part of the remit of this service is to educate and inform the public about Lancashire's historic environment.

Lancashire Lantern - The Lancashire Life And Times E-Resource Network allows you to search Community Information and in the armed forces index, newspaper index and other databases which are provided and maintained by the Reference Departments within Lancashire County Library.  The scope of each index is described on the Lancashire Lantern home page.
